Slackbot’s setup process involves the following steps:

Prerequisites

  1. Ensure Box for Slack integration is set up: Installing and Using the Box for Slack Integration
  2. Ensure you have access to Slackbot: Slackbot, your personal AI agent for work

End user

  1. Re-authenticate Box for Slack to accept MCP scopes. You can do this by going to the link: https://account.box.com/app-api/slack-v2/install
    • Note: this is only for existing users. New setups do not need to re-authenticate.
  2. Open DMs with Slackbot
  3. Click the MCP connectors button in the Slackbot toolbar
  4. In the list of suggested apps find Box, and click the + button next to the app to add it.
  5. You will be redirected to Box OAuth to complete the setup
  6. Once connected, the Box app appears under Your apps in the Integrations tab with a Manage button
