Box Mobile is how your teams use Box on phones and tablets. The Box apps for iOS and Android connect to the same content, permissions, and security model as the web experience, so people can work with files when they are away from a laptop. You can preview documents, upload and share content, comment and collaborate, capture scans and recordings, and keep track of tasks and notifications—without storing a separate copy of your data outside Box. Organizations that standardize on mobile device and app management can deploy Box alongside enterprise mobility management (EMM), mobile device management (MDM), and mobile application management (MAM) so policies, distribution, and data protection stay consistent across the fleet.

What you can do with Box Mobile

With Box on a mobile device, you can:
  • Access folders and files you are permitted to see in Box, including search and preview.
  • Upload new content, share links, and collaborate with comments and shared access.
  • Use document scanning, Capture mode, and related capture features to add content from the real world into Box.
  • Work with collections, annotations (where supported), and platform-specific features such as drag and drop on supported iOS devices.
  • Use in-app experiences such as the status and transfers indicator, task center, and notification center to follow work in progress.
For how previews behave on small screens, see Selecting Box Preview’s display mode on mobile devices. For security options in the apps, see Understanding mobile security settings.
