Box Relay is a workflow automation application that enables Box power users easily to automate and accelerate business processes centered around content. Use Relay’s straightforward interface to build a workflow to facilitate content collaboration and automate vital business processes. Create a new workflow from scratch, or choose from a large number of pre-built workflow templates to help you get started right away.  You can monitor and track workflow progress in real-time, so you can see who has approved a given document, and who still needs to review it. Meanwhile, those to whom you’ve assigned specific tasks in turn can be notified directly to review, edit, and comment on their assignments. You can only create workflows that involve folders you own, co-own, or edit.

Box Relay is built natively on the Box platform, so it’s also fully auditable and meets the compliance requirements of enterprise-grade software. To take full advantage of the Relay’s capabilities, look for processes that typically involve:
  • multiple users
  • multiple steps
  • the use of metadata
  • advanced routing logic
  • status visibility and reporting
Examples of such processes include:
  • contract approvals
  • content collaboration
  • budget approvals
  • new employee on-boarding
