Box provides SFTP access through multiple regional endpoints to support data residency requirements and optimize performance. To better ensure compliance and optimal performance, you must connect to your region’s SFTP endpoint.

Selecting the correct SFTP endpoint

Always connect to the SFTP endpoint that matches your Box account’s storage policy region. Connecting to a zone that your account is not assigned to may result in:
  • Increased transfer latency
  • Slower upload processing times
  • Violation of data protection regulations
If your account is assigned to the zone…Use this endpoint
United States, Canadasftp.services.box.com
Japansftp-ane1.services.box.com
Australiasftp-ause1.services.box.com
UKsftp-euw2.services.box.com
Germany, Francesftp-euw3.services.box.com
If you are unsure which zone your account is assigned to, contact your Box administrator or Box support before configuring your connection.
Note:The global endpoint does not route to regional endpoints. For compliance with data residency requirements, use the appropriate regional endpoint instead.
