# Using keyboard shortcuts in Box Hubs

Box Hubs provides keyboard shortcuts for both building a Hub and reading one, so you can work without reaching for the mouse. Shortcuts differ by mode: **Edit Mode** shortcuts apply while you build a Hub, and **View Mode** shortcuts apply while you read one.

In this article, **Alt/Option** indicates the **Alt** key on Windows and the **Option** key on Mac. **⌘ / Ctrl** indicates the **Command** key on Mac, and the **Ctrl** key on Windows. Shortcuts that produce a question mark are written as **Shift** + **/**, the keys you press to enter **?**.

## Open the Keyboard Shortcuts panel

The **Keyboard Shortcuts** panel lists every available shortcut and stays open while you work, so you can try shortcuts as you learn them.

To open the panel, use either method:

* Press **Alt/Option** + **Shift** + **/**.
* Select the ellipsis (...) > **Show Keyboard Shortcuts**.

The panel opens beside your Hub content with two tabs, **Edit Mode** and **View Mode**. Select a tab to see the shortcuts for that mode. To close the panel, select the close icon (X) or press **Alt/Option** + **Shift** + **/** again.

## View Mode shortcuts

Use these shortcuts while you read a Hub.

| Shortcut | Action |

| **⌘ / Ctrl** + **J** | Open or close the Box AI panel. |
| **Alt/Option** + **S** | Share the Hub. |
| **]** | Go to the next page. |
| **\[** | Go to the previous page. |
| **Alt/Option** + **/** | Jump to the search field. |
| **Alt/Option** + **G**, then **Alt/Option** + **H** | Go back to the Hubs gallery. |

## Edit Mode shortcuts

Use these shortcuts while you build a Hub in the Box Hubs builder. To switch to Edit Mode, in the upper-right corner of the Hub, select **Edit**. For details, see [Working with the Box Hubs Builder](/en/box-hubs/using-box-hubs/working-with-the-box-hubs-builder).

### Block actions

Select a block before you use these shortcuts.

| **⌘ / Ctrl** + **Shift** + **↑** | Move the block up. |
| **⌘ / Ctrl** + **Shift** + **↓** | Move the block down. |
| **⌘ / Ctrl** + **D** | Duplicate the block. |
| **⌘ / Ctrl** + **Shift** + **Backspace** | Delete the block. |

### Text formatting

Use these shortcuts in text blocks, such as **Paragraph** and **Call Out**. Select the text you want to change, then press the shortcut.

| **⌘ / Ctrl** + **U** | Underline. |
| **⌘ / Ctrl** + **Shift** + **S** | Strikethrough. |
| **⌘ / Ctrl** + **Shift** + **L** | Align text left. |
| **⌘ / Ctrl** + **Shift** + **E** | Align text center. |
| **⌘ / Ctrl** + **Shift** + **R** | Align text right. |
| **⌘ / Ctrl** + **Shift** + **8** | Bulleted list. |
| **⌘ / Ctrl** + **Shift** + **7** | Numbered list. |

### Content creation

| Shortcut | Action |

| **Alt/Option** + **N** | Add a page. |
| **⌘ / Ctrl** + **S** | Save the Hub. |
