# Logging in on a Device That Is Not Yours

When you log in on a computer, phone, or tablet that doesn't belong to you, use a [private browsing window](#log-in-using-private-browsing) to protect your account information

Examples of shared devices:

* Public computers at libraries or internet cafes
* Shared company computers
* Any device used by multiple people

Private browsing features vary by browser. Review the specific instructions for your browser before proceeding.

1. Open your browser (computer) or browser app (phone or tablet).
2. Open a private window. For instructions, see the documentation for your browser:

3. Go to [box.com](http://box.com) and log in to your account.
4. When finished, close all private windows or [log out](#log-out) of your account.

Always close private windows or log out when you finish using a shared device.

1. In the upper-right corner, select your initials.
2. Select **Log Out.**
