# Using the Confidence Level in Preview

> Learn how to use the confidence level in Preview to understand the accuracy of the content you are viewing.

Metadata confidence level is a measure of confidence in the accuracy of the Box's AI—powered metadata extraction. You can see and review the results in Box Preview. See Metadata confidence level documentation to learn how to enable this functionality in Box Extract Agent API.

  This feature is available only for the Enterprise Advanced plan.

You can also check from where in the document Box AI extracted a specific value with references by clicking the metadata field. This feature is supported for the following file types: pdf, png, jpg and tiff.

If you can't see the confidence level or references, it means that your enterprise admin didn't enable it in the Box Admin Console or the agent wasn't able to return them.

## Using confidence level in file preview

To see the [confidence level](https://developer.box.com/reference/post-ai-extract-structured#body-include-confidence-score):

1. Open your file in Preview mode.
2. Select the **Metadata** icon.
3. Apply the metadata template if it's not yet added.
4. Select the **Autofill with Box AI** icon.
5. The Box Extract Agent extracts the metadata from the document.

  The confidence level feature applies to all metadata extracted using the autofill capability in Box Preview and Box Apps, and all files processed using Custom Extract Agents in Box Extract.

If the confidence level is high, you don't need to do anything. The confidence level is visible next to the extracted value.

If the confidence level is low, a banner appears with the number of fields that need review. Select View to see them.
Now you can review the values, correct them if needed, accept them despite the low confidence level, or clear the value.

**Score ranges:**

* **LOW:** 0.0 ≤ score \< 0.7
* **HIGH:** score ≥ 0.9

  You can only use this feature for documents where you extract values after the confidence level feature is released. It doesn't work for files processed before the release of this feature, unless extraction is run again using Preview Autofill, Box Apps Autofill, or Box Extract.
