# Box Folder Settings

export const InlineImage = ({src, alt = "", height = "1em"}) => {
  return <img noZoom src={src} alt={alt} style={{
    display: "inline-block",
    verticalAlign: "middle",
    height: height,

  }} />;
};

<div className="article_labels_list" style={{display: 'none'}} dangerouslySetInnerHTML={{__html: "has_image , User , End User , Overview , Mac , Article , Product Utilization , Established"}} />

The folder settings page enables you to control the actions possible within a specific folder, and modify the default settings to better suit your needs. Sub-folders inherit these folder settings, and the settings cannot be 'undone' at a sub-folder level. Some settings can be modified only by folder owners and co-owners.

**To modify folder settings:**

1. Hover over a folder and click **More Options** (<InlineImage src="/images/shared/button-3-dots2.png" alt="More Options button" />). (Or right-click on a folder.)
2. Click **Settings**.

You can adjust email notifications at enterprise-wide, account-wide, and folder-specific levels.

* [Enterprise-wide email notifications](/en/box-admin-tools/how-to-guides-for-admins/manage-notifications-for-enterprise-users): When email notifications are applied in the Admin Console, this becomes the default for all newly created end users until the end user adjusts their settings.

* [Individual account-wide email notifications](/en/box-fundamentals/for-users/user-login-and-settings/manage-account-settings#email-notifications): When email notifications are applied in **Account Settings**, this becomes the default notification setting for all newly-created folders in the account OR for folders that are set to **Use my default notification settings**.

* End users in a Box instance can have different account wide settings by manually adjusting their email notification settings.

* [Folder-specific level email notifications](#email-and-notifications-settings): When email notifications are applied in **Folder Settings**, this becomes the default email notification for all files in the folder and subfolders.

* Different users collaborating in a folder can set their own specific folder-level email notifications (if allowed by the folder owner).

* In some cases, [notifications are not sent or multiple notifications are sent](https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/4417769636371-Notifications-not-sent-or-multiple-notifications-sent).
* Due to the [notifications are not sent or multiple notifications are sent](https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/4417769636371-Notifications-not-sent-or-multiple-notifications-sent) issue, users may receive notifications about their own actions. For example, they may be notified about any changes they introduced to folders.
