<div className="article_labels_list" style={{display: 'none'}} dangerouslySetInnerHTML={{__html: "Custom watermarking , Watermarking , watermarks"}} />

[Watermarking Files](/en/box-fundamentals/for-users/collaborating/sharing-content-using-box/watermarking-files) involves Box placing a semi-transparent overlay across files' contents.

Box enables select accounts to apply customized watermarks to either individual files, or to all files within a folder:

* You must be an Owner, Co-owner or Editor of a file or folder to customize a watermark.
* Customizing watermarks is available only for Enterprise Plus accounts and higher, and for accounts that use Shield.

## Enable Custom Watermarking

Before using Custom Watermarking, ensure the feature is enabled for managed users in the Admin Console. This step is required to activate the feature across your enterprise.

5. In the popup modal, select **Enable for all managed users**.
6. Click **Save** to confirm your selection.
7. At the top of the **Content & Sharing** tab, click **Save** to apply the changes.

<Note>
  **Note:**

  The changes apply only after you click **Save** in both the popup modal and on the **Content & Sharing** tab.
