# Using AutoFiler in Box Apps

AutoFiler allows you to add Metadata to your files during the upload process.

When your files are uploading, you can add Metadata to it in the **Current File** tab. Select the **Metadata Template** from the drop-down list.

Other required fields depend on the metadata template your Box Admin created.

Click **Apply to All** - a **Confirm Apply To All** dialog appears with the following text:

**Applying these changes will apply the entered Metadata values to all remaining files.**

Click **Apply to All** again. You can also **Cancel** this action.

## Informational and error messages

File upload success message: **\[number] documents uploaded**.

File upload fail message: **\[number] upload failed**.

If you try to upload a file with the same name as another file in the folder, a following message appears: **Item failed to upload. Item with the same name already exists.**
