# Folder Shared Links Report

Reports can be generated to see details of how many shared links exist within a folder.

To generate the Folder Shared Links report:

1. Hover over a folder and select the **...** button, then **Folder Insights**.
2. In the Shared Links section, select **Download Report**.

Prior to downloading the report, you can optionally select a [filter](#folder-shared-links-report-filter) to be applied.

### Folder Shared Links report data columns

Folder Shared Links reports contain the following information:

  Item ID
</h4>

A unique identifier for the item.

<h4 id="item-name">
  Item Name
</h4>

The name given to the item. Includes the extension when the item is a file.

<h4 id="shared-item-type">
  Shared Item Type
</h4>

The type of item shared. For example, a file or folder.

<h4 id="shared-link-status">
  Shared Link Status
</h4>

Is one of:

* Open: The shared link is publicly accessible and no sign in is required.
* Collaborators: The shared link is available only to people who are invited as collaborators to the item.
* Company: The shared link is available only to people in your company.

<h4 id="shared-link-derived-status">
  Shared Link Derived Status
</h4>

Values in this field can be:

* Open: The shared link is publicly accessible and no sign in is required.
* Collaborators: The shared link is available only to people who are invited as collaborators to the item.
* Company: The shared link is available only to people in your company.

If the [Shared Link Restriction](/en/box-shield/shield-smart-access-policies/security-control-types#shared-link-restriction) security control is enabled, it will impact the value shown. Specifically, the **People in your company and invited people** restriction will appear as *Company* while the **Invited people only** restriction will show as *Collaborators*.

If there is no action that overrides a shared link status, the value displayed in Shared Link Status and Derived Status will be the same.

  Shared Link URL
</h4>

The Box-generated URL of the shared link. If the [custom subdomain](/en/box-admin-tools/box-admin-reference/enterprise-settings-custom-setup-tab#custom-subdomain) is changed in Enterprise Settings, the updated URL will display in the report.

<h4 id="created-date">
  Created Date
</h4>

The date that the shared link was created.

<h4 id="permissions">
  Permissions
</h4>

The permissions for the shared link. Values in this field can be:

* None - for links shared with *Invited people only*; in this case, permissions are not defined in the shared link dialog box, but are inherited from the collaboration invite.
* Preview - for links shared with *People with the link* or *People in your company* and the *Can view only* permission selected.
* Preview and download - for links shared with *People with the link* or *People in your company* and the *Can view and download* permission selected.
* Preview, download, and edit - for links shared with *People with the link* or *People in your company* and the *Can edit* permission selected.

You can configure the following filter prior to running the Folder Shared Links report by selecting the checkboxes that are part of the chart legend. Information is only included for the access levels which are selected.

  Access Level
</h4>

Optional. Select from:

* Open: The shared link is publicly accessible and no sign in is required.
* Collaborators: The shared link is available only to people who are invited as collaborators to the item.
* Company: The shared link is available only to people in your company.
